Ford City Vintage Map Mug: The Glass Town on the Allegheny

More than a century ago, a mapmaker looked down on Ford City and drew a town built with purpose. Straight streets laid out along the riverbank, mill roofs marching toward the water. This mug wraps that entire hand-drawn bird's-eye map around solid ceramic.

This isn't a modern design made to look old, and it isn't a rough scan either. I take the original map and restore it by hand. Upscaled, cleaned, the damage and haze of a century lifted out, so the detail prints sharp the way the mapmaker drew it.

By Ford City the Allegheny runs wide and working. This was glass country, a town raised on the riverbank to make plate glass for the whole country, and the map catches it in full stride.
